CTI PFAN Organized a Project Development & Financing Workshop for CISCA-PDFI
Kiev, Ukraine: November 11-12, 2015 – The Workshop was designed by CTI PFAN to provide expert inputs to the selected project developers on the development and structuring of their projects and the preparation of bankable business plans and investor pitches from professional advisors, clean energy investors and commercial banks. Nine projects to be implemented in Ukraine (6), Georgia (1), Kazakhstan (1), and Moldova (1) were short-listed to participate in the CTI PFAN CISCA-PDFI process after a regional call for proposals for renewable and clean energy projects launched in May 2015, which attracted numbers of proposals from around CIS and Central Asian region. The projects were selected on the basis of their commercial viability, stage of maturity and interest for investors as well as their potential to produce clean energy sustainably and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while achieving other environmental and developmental benefits. The projects seek to raise financing for deployment of a range of clean and renewable technologies including biomass, biogas, wind, solar heating, hydroelectric and waste to energy.
In the interactive project presentation session at the Workshop, project developers received expert feedback and advice on their projects. The hands-on feedback and guidance in the group context provided project developers with a direction for the next step forward. It also provided a useful forum for the developers to interact among themselves and benefit from the views of the other participants who working on different but related technologies.

In all, the Workshop was attended by 27 participants including the short-listed project developers, coaches, organizers and observers.
