Thursday, 16 February 2017 at Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi
The registration has been closed. Thank you very much for your interest.
You are cordially invited to attend the CTI PFAN Africa Climate Change Project Stream (ACCPS) Investor Forum, on the 16th of February, where we will be showcasing a pipeline of projects which deal with the pressing issues of climate change and are looking for investment
Developing countries will experience some of the worst impacts of climate change and given the constraints on the availability of public sector resources, it is generally accepted that significant private sector financing will be required to play a role in addressing many of the challenges of climate change.
The Africa Climate Change Project Stream (ACCPS) Investor Forum features interactive investor panels and a business plan competition and will showcase some of the most promising climate change investment opportunities in Africa. The shortlisted projects were selected from over 230 submitted proposals for their financial and technical viability, environmental benefits and their social and development impacts and have received intensive coaching on the development of bankable business plans from CTI PFAN professional advisors.
The projects are raising financing for deployment of a range of climate change technologies products and services across diverse economic sectors, including Agriculture & Agri-business, Micro Finance & Micro Insurance and Forestry & Eco-system Services. Projects from across Africa are represented at the forum including from Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
The Africa Climate Change Investor Forum will be a unique opportunity to access a select group of climate change projects with high profit potential and verified environmental and development benefits, which are ready for investment. It also provides an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, project developers and other market participants as well as learn more about the market for climate change investment and financing in Africa. Over 30 adaptation related climate change projects are currently included in the CTI PFAN Project Development Pipeline. CTI PFAN has already raised over USD 1.2 billion for clean energy and related climate change projects.
The Africa Climate Change Project Stream Investor Forum is primarily targeted at investors and financiers engaged in the climate change sectors in Africa. Other market participants and stakeholders in the sector may attend the Forum. After the Forum, an Award Ceremony and Reception will be held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski which all participants will be welcome to attend.
There is no charge for participation and all participants to the Forum are invited to join us for a cocktail evening after the event.

The Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI PFAN) is a multilateral public private partnership, initiated by the Climate Technology Initiative (CTI) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which nurtures promising, innovative clean and renewable energy, and climate chnage projects by bridging the gap between investors and clean energy entrepreneurs and project developers. By August 2016, with over US$ 1.2 billion of investment for 87 projects already raised, CTI PFAN has contributed to the establishment of over 701 MW of clean generation capacity and annual mitigation of 2.6 million tones CO2e and is now looking to target its next investment threshold of US$ 5 billion. PFAN is currently transitioning to a new organization structure and in future will be hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) together with the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).
We look forward to welcoming you to the ACCPS Investor Forum in February 2017.
