CTI PFAN’s goals are to accelerate technology transfer and diffusion under the UNFCCC, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, promote low-carbon, sustainable economic development, and help facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy by increasing financing opportunities for promising clean energy projects.

CTI PFAN achieves this by originating technically and commercially viable clean energy and climate change projects, nurturing their development through mentoring provided by networks of in-country financial advisors, entrepreneurs and technical experts and then facilitating investment through its global investor network

CTI PFAN has 10 years of project origination and preparation experience and has developed a project pipeline of over 302 clean energy and climate change projects in developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, CIS and Central Asia. It has raised over USD 802 million of private sector financing, representing ca. 590 MW of clean generation capacity and an aggregate annual GHG mitigation potential of over 2.6 million tonnes of CO2 e.

PFAN supported projects increase access to clean and modern energy services, helping reduce poverty and positively impacting sustainable development goals (health, gender equality, education, employment). The CTI PFAN approach also contributes to the establishment and development of local financial and consultancy markets and eco-systems in the countries in which PFAN operates.

You are cordially invited to attend the CTI PFAN Africa Climate Change Project Stream (ACCPS) Investor Forum, on the 16th of February, where we will be showcasing a pipeline of projects which deal with the pressing issues of climate change and are looking for investment

Developing countries will experience some of the worst impacts of climate change and given the constraints on the availability of public sector resources, it is generally accepted that significant private sector financing will be required to play a role in addressing many of the challenges of climate change.

The Africa Climate Change Project Stream (ACCPS) Investor Forum features interactive investor panels and a business plan competition and will showcase some of the most promising climate change investment opportunities in Africa. The shortlisted projects were selected from over 230 submitted proposals for their financial and technical viability, environmental benefits and their social and development impacts and have received intensive coaching on the development of bankable business plans from CTI PFAN professional advisors.

The projects are raising financing for deployment of a range of climate change technologies products and services across diverse economic sectors, including Agriculture & Agri-business, Micro Finance & Micro Insurance and Forestry & Eco-system Services. Projects from across Africa are represented at the forum including from Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

The Africa Climate Change Investor Forum will be a unique opportunity to access a select group of climate change projects with high profit potential and verified environmental and development benefits, which are ready for investment. It also provides an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, project developers and other market participants as well as learn more about the market for climate change investment and financing in Africa. Over 30 adaptation related climate change projects are currently included in the CTI PFAN Project Development Pipeline. CTI PFAN has already raised over USD 1.2 billion for clean energy and related climate change projects.

The Africa Climate Change Project Stream Investor Forum is primarily targeted at investors and financiers engaged in the climate change sectors in Africa. Other market participants and stakeholders in the sector may attend the Forum. After the Forum, an Award Ceremony and Reception will be held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski which all participants will be welcome to attend.
